Privacy Policy

Applies to the RoomCanvas mobile app and nebulabay.online · Effective August 17, 2026

The short version

RoomCanvas is local-first. The app collects no personal data, runs no analytics, and operates no servers that see your content. There is no account, no sign-up, and nothing to unsubscribe from.

The website is a separate matter. Its privacy banner declares three purposes — essential services, analytics, and targeted advertising — and the two optional ones do nothing unless you opt in. Details are in The website below.

What stays on your device

• Projects — surfaces, sources, settings, and saved setups live only in the app's storage on your phone.
• Photos and videos you pick as sources are read from your library and never uploaded anywhere.
• Camera frames captured during a room scan are processed on-device to find surfaces and then discarded. They are not stored or transmitted.

What leaves your device, and where it goes

• Casting — when you cast, your projection is sent directly over your local network to the screen you chose (Chromecast, AirPlay, HDMI, or a browser window). It does not pass through our servers.
• Widgets — the weather, transit, and calendar widgets fetch public, key-free data (for example Open-Meteo) directly from your device. Requests carry only what those services need, such as coordinates you configured for weather.
• Spotify (optional) — if you connect Spotify, the app talks directly to Spotify's API with a token stored on your device. Disconnect at any time in the widget's settings; we never see your Spotify account.

The website

nebulabay.online is a static site hosted on Vercel.

What the banner asks about. Our consent manager declares three purposes:

• Essential services — what the site needs to function, including remembering the privacy choice you just made. Disclosed rather than consented to, because without it there is no working site.
• Analytics — measuring how the site is used. Opt-in: nothing runs unless you allow it.
• Targeted advertising — advertising and marketing, which can include sharing information with marketing vendors, social media companies, and analytics partners. Opt-in: nothing runs unless you allow it.

To be straight about where things actually stand: we have not added any analytics or advertising scripts yet. Those two purposes describe what we would be permitted to do once you consent, not something already happening. If that changes it will happen only after you have opted in, and this page will say so.

It does load one third-party script: Ketch, the consent manager behind the privacy banner, served from global.ketchcdn.com. Two things follow from that. Loading the script is an ordinary web request, so Ketch sees your IP address and browser user agent. And when you answer the banner, Ketch stores that answer in your browser — a cookie and local storage — so you are not asked again on every page. See Ketch's privacy policy.

Vercel's infrastructure may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses) to operate the service — see Vercel's privacy policy.

Your choices

The banner appears on your first visit, and the optional purposes stay switched off until you opt in. You can change or withdraw your answer at any time through the banner's preferences, or by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which makes it ask again. Withdrawing is as easy as giving, and the site works exactly the same either way — declining costs you nothing here.

The banner follows the privacy law that applies where you are, so the exact controls you see differ by region. Wherever you are, you can decline analytics and targeted advertising.

If you are in the EU, UK, or California and want to know what is held about you, email info@nebulabay.online. For the website the answer is your consent choice; for the app there is nothing to send, because nothing about you ever reaches us.

Children

RoomCanvas does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Given the design of the app, changes are unlikely to be interesting.
